Train writing today! 350 words or so. Which is good.
But…
OK.. so I need to get this out there. I’m writing number 2 of a junior fiction series that I’ve written number 1 for. I feel reasonably good about number 1. Number 2 however… number 2 be dragging. It doesn’t feel as fast paced or fun as number 1.
I’ve written the start.. and some of the end. But I feel like the middle is just really taking forever. And maybe I’m just filling in space. And it’s not funny?
And to add to that, I sent one of my favourite picture book manuscripts off for assessment to a couple of places. And they both came back saying… ummm nice idea but what’s the point?\
Which is really very good feedback. Useful and I see their point. But that doesn’t mean it’s not chipped into my confidence a little.
And when you’re trying to NaNoWriMo, you need that confidence to keep you going.
So what to do?
I have one rule when I write stuff… and that’s that I finish. So finish I shall. And I guess I’ll deal with whatever I wrote another day.
