Mosaic a Green Sheep – Scavenger Hunt inspired by Where is the Green Sheep?

(that’s fast asleep)

Anyone else a Mem Fox fan? I read Where is the Green Sheep? to my kids every night for at least a thousand years, and I never ever got sick of it. I LOVE this book. Do you? My kids are too old now, but I still pull this book off the shelf every so often. It still makes me smile.

So, inspired by Where is the Green Sheep?, this week’s scavenger hunt is a green sheep mosaic. But don’t worry, you don’t need to smash tiles or use mortar to stick them down. We’re going to mosaic with leaves that we find on our daily walk! Or if you’re in dreaded home quarantine, see what you can find in the garden or in your recycle bin!

How does it work?

  1. Sign up and I’ll send you a PDF file with the scavenger hunt items and template of a sleepy sheepy.
  2. Print both pages. You can leave page 2 at home, but you’ll need to take page 1 on your walk.
  3. Step outside for some fresh air, with page 1. Collect the items you need as you walk.
Dark green, light green – collect all the green leaves!.
  4. When you get home, cut them up and stick them down.
  5. And don’t forget to flip through your bookshelf and read Where is the Green Sheep? one more time. What a great book!
