This is the day filled with hope and good intentions. That plans made will become goals achieved.
Days where the alarm goes off at 5am and I GET OUT OF BED.
I mean. Really?
This is great. And hopefully that greatness will keep me going for a whole month.
Yes, it’s National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).
As per last year, my goal is not 50,000 words. But in the interests of accountability, here it is:
- Finish writing the second in my smelly junior fiction book series (about 2000-3000 words to go)
- Outline book 3 (150-200 words)
- Outline book 4 (150-200 words)
- Write a picture book that’s been floating in my head (and space – there’s a hint) for quite a while now. (500 words)
- Fix a picture book that I decided to delete a chunk from recently. This is the first PB I ever wrote (150 words).
- Fix my fishy picture book.
- Fix my picture book about New Year’s Eve.
- Fix my picture book about a sleepy toddler – which will probably describe my mental state by the end of all this!
It’s basically all the things I wanted to do this year, but didn’t quite get to. In fairness, I’ve done heaps of other stuff too. But nothing like cramming stuff into the second last month of the year is there?
Right, it’s 6am now. The sun is up. Time to run.
It feels so good to have done some writing today. Let’s hope I can keep this up. I will keep this up!
