NaNoWriMo Day 15 Half Wayish

OK OK! So, I said I’d blog daily in November. We’re at day 15, and this is my 4th blog post. This has not gone well.

However, I have been doing the other things. I’ve been writing, and running. And sleeping and reading and listening to audio books and catching up on critiques for my critique group. And typing while I think I might actually be asleep. And yeah, paid employment.

I’ve written 9 picture books.

And almost finished a junior fiction that I’ve been sitting on for months.

So productive.

Some of those PBs are kinda terrible. But a couple might shine or sing one day. And I like prioritising writing.

If I write every day, I improve. So, if I write a terrible PB, I think to myself – “more of this” or “less of this”. Normally, it’s at least a week or 2 before I write the next PB. And I’ve forgotten what I was going to do more or less of.

BUT, if I write every day, I’m painfully aware of what sucked yesterday, and I’m ready to suck less the next day.

It’s worked well for me, and makes me think it’s a great reason to keep up some form of daily writing habit when this whole November crazy is over.

I’m thinking I may or may not be asleep at my PC right now, so good time to end.

Are you nanowrimo-ing? How’s it going?
