In which I realised my writing habits are NOT good.
Let me tell you a little story… about a girl who wrote a picture book every week for the past 2 years. About a girl who had to write to keep up. Who literally had to sneak a word into every gap life presented.
When this girl decided to stop writing to prompts and start editing, boy did the pressure come off. So far off that maybe she’s dropped the ball a bit. Or the pen?
Which brings us to today.
Today, I looked for pics of where I wrote this week. There were photos of my kids playing footy. Photos of me with a silly wig on. Photos of my son’s face pressed against a window. No photos of me with an ipad, laptop or even a notebook.
So, here’s the deal I’ve made with myself. I will write/edit for 10 minutes every day. This does not include conference prep, blog writing, social media, etc. Pure writing/editing. 10 minutes.
I just stopped and did my 10 minutes then. Sitting in the car at footy training. And jeepers it was good. Made some really solid changes to a PB.

So, next week. Assuming I remember to take pics. I should have 7 pics of where I wrote. Exciting stuff hey?
How’s your writing going? Are you managing more than 10 minutes per day?
