So, here’s an idea. If you want to do something, tell people you’re going to do it. I hear this all the time. Accountability.
And yeah, that totally works. But what if you’re too shy to tell people your dreams? Or don’t think anyone will care enough to keep you accountable?
Well, I have the solution for you. Write it on the internet. Somewhere. Anywhere.
Case in point. I sucked at writing regular blog posts. I don’t really promote the blog, so no-one’s banging down my door if I don’t write one. It’s more for myself.
But regardless. I wanted to write more regularly.
How did I fix it? I renamed my “Where I wrote” posts to “Where I wrote Wednesday”. And now, I write every Wednesday. Even if it’s to say I didn’t write.
Which brings me to case in point number 2. Last week, I was a bit peeved with myself for not writing a whole lot. So, I put something out there.
I vowed to write every day for 10 minutes. And guess what? I have. When I was tired. When I didn’t want to. When I didn’t know what to write or polish.
So, here we go – 7 x 10 minutes writing this week.
I started the week on Wednesday writing in the car while the sporty kid practiced kicking an oval ball around.

On Thursday, I wrote at the chiropractors… in the first waiting room and the one out the back.

On Friday, I sat in front of the fake fire and wrote.

On Saturday I wrote, while I watched the election coverage. Sigh.

On Sunday, I wrote luxuriously at my desk, between footy and footy family night.

Monday, I wrote on my iphone standing in a queue at Savers 50% off sale day.

Which brings me finally to Tuesday. I wrote at soccer in the car and I have a photo, but I’m not awake enough to get it off my phone and into this blog.
So, here we go! 1 week done. Next week is on! Go!
