NaNoWriMo Day 21

NaNoWriMo Day 21

It’s day 21! Didn’t actually get any words on the page today, but I did some planning and thinking and reading. Reading of critiques for a story that is very close to my heart and it’s hard to read stuff that doesn’t say it’s brilliant. I feel like I’ve broken through that though and can how to break it down to build it back up bigger and better than before.

But despite the lack of words, I want to have a little party for myself all the same.

I just re-read my day 1 post to figure out what I was supposed to be doing today. And what I saw there was a person who did not actually believe in herself.

I did not believe that I would get up every morning at 5am to write.

But here I am. A little tired today if the truth be told.

Weekends have not been 5am starts. But I will find time all the same during the day.

But every weekday, I have been up at 5am. And honestly this astounds me. I’m so happy about this alone, that the words on the page are like a bonus.

Last night I took my son to some hockey training, and they had a guy talk about recovery and looking after your body, so you can make better decisions on the field. One of the things he said was that the most important thing with sleep is routine. Same bedtime, same wake time. And I have to say 5am has been easier, since I just decided it would always be 5am. Good to know hey!

Anyway, it’s well after 6am, which means it’s time to put my story in my head and take it for a run. Hopefully I’ll come back with 6km under my belt and some breathless ideas recorded on my phone.
